Labor day at Regina's

Robert enjoying some yummy food.

Albert and I had a lovely time over at Regina's place for Labor Day BBQ potluck. Everyone brought wonderful food. What makes this event kind of fun is the standing tradition to compile a CD with a song selections from everyone that represents their summer. That is, each song on the "summer cd" is picked by every person that represents their summer, or how their summer went. It could also be a favorite song that you've been enjoying over the summer. My pick was "Something stupid" by Robbie Williams. It's a pretty good song, I really enjoy it's content though. For me, it shows how summer goes by so fast and that we sometimes don't make time for our loved ones with all that goes on during the summer. House projects, helping friends move, BBQ's, etc.

Thanks to Regina for hosting the Labor day BBQ!! Thanks also goes to Damian for compiling everyone's music requests.

Albert and I couldn't stay there as long as we had hoped, as we had to meet up with another group of friends in SF (pics in another blog entry).

Humor of the day: Dog Food

I used to have a Labrador retriever & I was buying a large bag of Purina at Wal-Mart and was in line to check out. A woman behind me asked if I had a dog(?)... (here's your sign)...On impulse, I told her that no, I was starting The Purina Diet again, although I probably shouldn't because I'd ended up in the hospital last time, but that I'd lost 50 pounds before I awakened in an intensive care ward with tubes coming out of most my orifices and IVs in both arms.

I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and that the way that it works is to load your pants pockets with Purina nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry & that the food is nutritionally complete so I was going to try it again. I have to mention here that practically everyone in the line was by now enthralled with my story, particularly a guy who was behind her.

Horrified, she asked if I had been poisoned by the food and that is why I ended up in the hospital. I told her no; I'd been sitting in the street licking my balls and a car hit me.

YouTube of the day: Afghan Burnouts

Someone sent me this video, so I uploaded it to YouTube. Too funny. This a good tallent for breaking in new bicycle tires.

Daily Link of the day: Bad Tricks

YouTube of the day: More tubes!

Back in July I posted a comedy central bit about Senator Stevens being his jack-ass self, that is, showing how stupid he is, reguarding Net Neutraility. Today, I found that someone had put together a litle video that mixes some tunes with with Senator Stevens blabbing about the internet is a series of tubes. The first part of the video is really neat, it repeats itself a bit too much.

YouTube of the day: Pancakes!

Can tell when people put alot of effort into their videos.

Exploding Dell laptop

This happened at a conference in Japan. Wouldn't it suck if this was on your lap? Or on a plane? It's reported that after the first explosion, it went on to have several smaller ones for 5 minutes.

At a conference in Japan, a Dell laptop suddenly exploded into flames, and lucky for its owner the fiery blast occurred while the PC was sitting on a table and not in his lap. An onlooker reported that the notebook continued to burn, producing several more explosions over the course of about five minutes.

The model of the offending Dell notebook wasn't mentioned.

Nerdy, but funny - Office Wars

A nerdy, but funny short over on utube.

Quiz of all quizes

A friend of mine from back east must have been bored the other day - or just getting home from some `encounter'. He wrote up a little quiz and sent it to his Cali friends. Of course, he forget to fill in his answers.

Half moon bay

A couple weeks ago, back when it was 114 in Sacramento, we went to Half Moon Bay, just south of San Francisco, to escape the heat. There, it was 75 degrees with a nice gentle breeze! It couldn't have been better weather.

There's not a lot to do there. There's alot of art galleries in town, or hang out on the beach. We choose the later. It was really nice, relaxing, and a nice get away from the opressive heat in Sacto. Here's some pics:

75 degrees, light breeze, eye candy - what more could you ask for?
